The first was the obvious definition of “forgive; pardon.” Self-explanatory. The second definition, “to give or gain relief from,” interested me because the dictionary referenced this definition to pain. So now I understand that if I do not repent, then God can not forgive or pardon me, nor can he give me relief from my pain... Showed first 250 characters
