For it is always easier to put blame on someone else instead looking inward for resolve. The motivations of revenge and jealousy lead him to these actions against Othello and perhaps these motivations are more human nature than any others.
It is blatantly obvious that Iago's motivations were evil, but in Iago's eyes, the evil was not in vain, the evil was for personal motives and this is what makes him human... Showed first 250 characters
