He takes her out to the play, it all goes fine until intermission when Sally sees and old friend and Holden becomes extremely mad. He looks at her and tells her he think she is phony. After the play they go to the skating rink and then to the bar. Holden comes up with an idea for the two of them to run away, but deep down he doesn't even want to go with her he just is in her presence in the time and feels accepted that makes him feel happier than normal...
