As soon as slaves heard about their newly acquired freedom, many of them moved up north. This created a huge gap in the southern work force and white males now had to work these less desirable jobs in order to sustain some sort of income. This created strain on the southern economy causing the south to begin rapidly printing money causing inflation and plummeting them into debt... Showed first 250 characters
