I really admire her work and imagination. For a woman her age, (71) she still has the wild and broad imagination of a child. This is shown in mostly all of her books such as The Giver, Gathering Blue, Messenger, The Silent Boy and Gossamer. She might have gotten some of her writing ideas through personal experience, for example she lived through the time of World War II which might have been the influence on writing Number of Stars (Jewish point of view of WWII)...
